Bring Your Worries to God

A KJV devotional on Philippians 4:6-7: bringing anxious thoughts to God in prayer, practicing thanksgiving, and receiving His peace through Christ.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 KJV

Some mornings, worry reaches us before our feet touch the floor. A conversation, a bill, or an uncertain future can fill the quiet. Paul does not tell us to hide these concerns or make ourselves presentable before God. He directs us to bring our requests to Him. In this passage, being careful means being anxious, not being thoughtful or responsible.

Prayer gives us somewhere to bring what we cannot settle alone. Thanksgiving can begin with a small, honest remembrance of God's care, even while the difficult question remains unanswered. We do not have to manufacture a cheerful feeling before we speak to our Father.

The promise here is God's peace keeping our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. It is not a promise that every circumstance will immediately change. Today, name one concern before God. Ask for His help with the next faithful step, and allow yourself to receive support from people who care for you. Persistent anxiety is not a reason for shame or a reason to avoid appropriate care.
