You Are Not Alone in Fear
Read Isaiah 41:10 in the KJV and reflect on God's presence, help, and sustaining care when fear makes the next step feel difficult.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isaiah's words addressed God's covenant people in their need. The command not to fear was joined to a reason: God was with them. Their hope was not that they were stronger than every threat, but that the Lord remained faithful to His people.
When fear rises, we often measure only our own resources. This passage turns our attention toward God's character and help. We can admit that we feel weak without deciding that we have been left alone. Courage can be a trembling step taken in trust, rather than the complete absence of fear.
Bring the situation you dread before God today. Ask for wisdom to distinguish a needed precaution from a worry you cannot resolve. Take the responsible step that is yours to take, and ask a trusted person to walk with you if you need support. Faith need not pretend that danger is unreal in order to trust God's presence.
